You park your car at the Tongariro Crossing Park & Ride (Ketetahi) (map to get there) situated on State Highway 46. Simply follow the signs to the Tongariro Crossing Park & Ride car park, park your car, then come and check in. PLEASE NOTE: Check in time is 15 minutes prior to departure time. So when you book at 6:30am 7:30am or 8:30am it will then say 6am 7am 8am. This is your arrival time please.

Beautiful hike, made very easy with the convenient shuttle taking us from one car park to the other so we could hike one way back to our car. Very accommodating when the weather meant we had to cancel and booked us on as soon as it opened 2 days later.

Everything went well! Bus was perfect on time (we booked the 6:30 AM bus) and the bus arrived around 6:20 AM. Just be careful: check the pick-up location in the confirmation email! Driver was friendly.

Everything went perfectly to plan. Quickly parked up on arrival and hopped on shuttle bus within a few minutes. Smooth friendly and informative drive with Brendan, and arrived at starting point of the crossing within 25 minutes.

Well organized, friendly and helpful. It's so much better to walk to your car than get shuttled at the end of the hike. I would recommend printing out your confirmation email as there is no cell service at the car park.

Great idea to get to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing trail. You drive your car & park, and then shuttle bus drops you to the starting point. Staff super nice and there is live commentary during the journey.

It worked out great! The ride up to the trailhead was a really nice coach bus. Very comfortable and only about 25 minutes or so. The car park was at the end of the trail made it easy to just head to your car after the hike was over.
